The event served as a global stage for Ssonic to showcase its high-priority midstream project: a state-of-the-art 80 MMSCFD LNG liquefaction plant currently under construction in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos. The Ssonic exhibition booth became a focal point for international energy stakeholders, drawing a diverse audience of global utility providers, energy traders, and technology partners. Domestic Energy Security (10%): Allocating critical capacity to fuel Nigerian power plants and industrial hubs. The project, which features a modular two-train system (40 MMSCFD each), is currently in the construction phase and remains on track for full commissioning in Q4 2027. NGML in partnership with NIPCO Gas Limited signs a 20-year Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement with Ssonic Petroleum

NGML, a subsidiary of NNPC Limited in partnership with NIPCO Gas Limited has signed a 20-year Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement with Ssonic Petroleum. This agreement, signed on March 6, 2025, entails the supply of 80 MMSCFD of natural gas to Ssonic Petroleum’s proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in the Lekki Free Zone Development Company, Lagos State. This partnership marks a significant step forward in our commitment to fostering industrial growth, economic development, and promoting the utilization of cleaner, environmentally friendly fuel sources in Nigeria. The NGML-NIPCO Joint Venture is already supplying natural gas to the Lekki Free Zone Power Plant, with expedited plans to extend gas supplies to additional customers. The provision of natural gas, being the most economical and environmentally friendly fuel, will significantly accelerate the development of the free zone.

NNPCL Signs Landmark Agreement with Ssonic Petroleum Ltd to Supply 80mmscf/d

The NNPC Gas Marketing Ltd, a subsidiary of the NNPC Ltd, and its Unincorporated Joint Venture partner, NIPCO Gas Ltd, have executed a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with Ssonic Petroleum Ltd to supply natural gas to the company’s proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos State.    Under the terms of the agreement which was executed on Thursday, 6th March, 2025, the NGML-NIPCO UJV will supply 80million standard cubic feet (mmscf) per day of natural gas to the Ssonic Petroleum LNG plant for a period of 20 years.      The gas supply agreement is part of efforts by the NNPC Ltd to boost domestic gas utilisation for industrial and economic growth of the nation and promote the use of gas as a cleaner, cheaper and more environmentally friendly fuel in keeping with the goal of reducing global warming.    Source: nnpcgroup.com

NNPC, NIPCO Sign Deal to Supply 80mmscf of Gas Daily to Ssonic Petroleum

NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML), a subsidiary of NNPC Limited, and NIPCO Gas Ltd have signed a gas sale and purchase agreement (GSPA) with Ssonic Petroleum Ltd to supply natural gas to its planned liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Lagos. In a statement on Friday, Olufemi Soneye, NNPC chief corporate communications officer, said the agreement was finalised on March 6. He said that as part of the agreement, the NGML-NIPCO unincorporated joint venture (UJV) will deliver 80 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) of natural gas per day to the Ssonic Petroleum LNG plant over a 20-year period. “The NNPC Gas Marketing Ltd, a subsidiary of the NNPC Ltd, and its Unincorporated Joint Venture partner, NIPCO Gas Ltd, have executed a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (GSPA) with Ssonic Petroleum Ltd to supply natural gas to the company’s proposed Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos State,” the statement reads. “Under the terms of the agreement which was executed on Thursday, 6th March, 2025, the NGML-NIPCO UJV will supply 80 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) per day of natural gas to the Ssonic Petroleum LNG plant for a period of 20 years.” Soneye said the agreement aligns with NNPC’s efforts to enhance domestic gas utilisation for the country’s industrial and economic development while promoting gas as a cleaner, more affordable, and environmentally friendly energy source in support of global warming reduction goals.   Source: www.thecable.ng
